How Much Does Engine Repair Cost in Dubai?

Engine Repair is quoted after inspection rather than from a price list. What moves the number is the car, the parts it takes and whether anything else has to come off to reach the job — not the workshop's postcode.

Prices for an engine repair in Dubai are quoted in a way that makes them hard to compare: one shop quotes parts only, another quotes labour separately, a third quotes a figure that turns into a different figure once the car is on the lift. This is what the job actually costs and what a quote should contain.

What a complete quote includes

Parts, labour, VAT, disposal of whatever came off the car, and the test that proves the fault was what somebody said it was. A quote missing any of those is not cheaper — it is incomplete, and the difference shows up at the counter. Ours is one number given before the work starts and it does not move afterwards.

What actually moves the price

The parts your specific car takes, whether they are genuine, OEM-equivalent or aftermarket, and the labour time the job needs on that model. This one needs a lift, so it is a workshop job, and recovery both ways is included rather than billed.

Why engines fail earlier in Dubai

Ambient heat pushes oil temperature up and thins the film protecting the bearings, and the short, stop-start trips most Dubai driving is made of never get the oil hot enough to burn off moisture. The result is that an engine here reaches a given wear state at a lower odometer reading than the same engine in a cooler climate. Service intervals written for Europe are optimistic here.

Why the cheapest quote is often the dearest

A quote well under everyone else's is usually missing something: the diagnostic that would have found the real fault, a part that is not what it says it is, or a second visit that has already been priced in by whoever gave it. Ask what happens if the fault is still there afterwards — the answer tells you what you are buying.

What the price covers

  • Full OBD scan with live sensor data, not just the stored code
  • Compression and leak-down testing where the symptom points at the top end
  • Timing chain, belt, gasket and seal replacement
  • Coil, injector and sensor replacement with the part shown to you first

Questions we get asked

How much is an engine repair in Dubai?

It is quoted after inspection, because pricing this job from a description is guessing. The inspection fee is told to you up front and comes off the repair if you go ahead. You get the number before any work starts and it does not change afterwards.

Is VAT included in the price you quote?

Yes. Every figure we give is the amount you pay, VAT included. A price quoted before VAT is a price that goes up five per cent at the counter.

How much does engine repair cost in Dubai?

It depends entirely on the fault. A coil pack and plugs is a few hundred dirhams; a head gasket or timing chain runs into the thousands. We give you a fixed price after diagnosis, and the diagnosis fee comes off the repair if you go ahead.
