Detailing is not a better car wash. It is decontamination, correction and protection in that order: pulling embedded contaminants out of the paint, machine-polishing away the marring underneath, and then sealing the result so the sun has something to attack other than your clear coat. In Dubai the protection step is the one that pays for itself.
UV index, sustained surface temperatures well above 60 degrees on a dark bonnet, and airborne alkaline dust that etches paint when it gets wet — Dubai attacks paint in three ways at once. A ceramic coating gives the environment a sacrificial layer to work on, and it makes the fortnightly sand film wash off instead of grinding in.
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. Applying ceramic over swirl marks and oxidation preserves them for the life of the coating, at which point removing it means removing the coating too. The polish stage is not an upsell, it is the reason the coating looks like anything.
