We fit Suzuki Equator batteries where the car is — office parking, driveway, or the hard shoulder — and we test the charging system before we sell you anything.

Standard, AGM or EFB for this one

With a range ending in 2013, this is very likely a conventional car with no start-stop system, which means a good standard battery in the correct group size does the job. AGM would last longer but you would be paying for cycle life the car never uses.

Keeping a Japanese car's battery alive through a Dubai summer

Light cars with small cooling packages feel Dubai summers hardest; radiator and condenser cleanliness matters more on a Swift than on a Land Cruiser. For the battery specifically: park in shade where you can, drive far enough to actually recharge rather than only starting the car, and have it load-tested before summer rather than after. A battery that reads 12.4 volts at rest can still fail its load test, and the load test is the one that predicts the morning it does not start.

What kind of car this is, and why that changes the battery

The Equator is an SUV, so it carries a physically larger battery than a saloon of the same age and a heavier parked electrical load. That is not a detail — battery choice is driven as much by physical size, hold-down type and parked current draw as it is by cranking amps, and getting one of the three wrong is how a correctly-specified battery ends up failing early.

Which battery a Suzuki Equator takes

Small-capacity JIS batteries dominate the range, which makes correct capacity more important rather than less — there is very little reserve to trade away. On the Equator specifically, which the vehicle database lists across model years 2008 to 2013, the safe approach is to read the label on the battery that is in the car now and match its group size, terminal side and capacity — or to give us the year and let us look it up.

What the visit covers

  • Load test on the existing battery, plus charging voltage with the engine running
  • Group size, terminal side and capacity matched to your Equator
  • Battery fitted, terminals cleaned and protected, hold-down torqued
  • Old battery removed for licensed recycling, no charge
  • Up to 24 months warranty in writing

Questions we get asked

How long does a Suzuki Equator battery last?

Two to three years in Dubai's climate. Anything past three summers should be load-tested rather than assumed good.

Will you take the old battery away?

Yes, at no charge, and it goes to a licensed recycler. Lead-acid batteries are not general waste and should never be left in a car park.
