Realistically, no. This job needs a lift, calibrated tooling or both, and the failure modes when it goes wrong are expensive rather than inconvenient. Here is exactly why, and what you can do yourself instead.
We are a workshop, so treat what follows with the scepticism it deserves — but the honest answer helps us more than a scare story does. If you can do it safely, do it. If it will cost you more than it saves, this is where we say so and why.
The inspection half. Looking, listening, reading the codes with a cheap OBD reader and knowing what you are looking at is real diagnostic work, and it means you arrive at a workshop with information rather than a symptom.

The engine revs climb without the car accelerating proportionally, most obviously under load or on an incline. Any delay between selecting drive and the car moving is the same warning.
A pressure flush on a neglected high-mileage box can dislodge deposits that were holding pressure and cause immediate failure. We drain, drop the pan and change the filter instead, which is slower and considerably safer.
