The honest answer to how long a transmission repair takes has two halves: the work, which is predictable, and everything around it, which is where the day actually goes. Here is both.
1-5 days on a car with nothing unusual about it. That figure assumes the diagnosis is already done and the right parts are on the van or the shelf — which is why we confirm the car and the fault on the call rather than discovering both on arrival.
A seized fastener, a part that has to be ordered, or a second fault found while the first is being fixed. We tell you as soon as we know rather than at the end, and if the extra work changes the price you agree to the new number before we carry on.
Several manufacturers describe their transmission fluid as lifetime fill. The lifetime in question is the warranty period, not the car's. In Dubai heat, fluid that has never been changed at 120,000 km is the most common single cause of the failures we rebuild.

The engine revs climb without the car accelerating proportionally, most obviously under load or on an incline. Any delay between selecting drive and the car moving is the same warning.
A pressure flush on a neglected high-mileage box can dislodge deposits that were holding pressure and cause immediate failure. We drain, drop the pan and change the filter instead, which is slower and considerably safer.
