The honest answer to how long a suspension alignment takes has two halves: the work, which is predictable, and everything around it, which is where the day actually goes. Here is both.
1-3 hours on a car with nothing unusual about it. That figure assumes the diagnosis is already done and the right parts are on the van or the shelf — which is why we confirm the car and the fault on the call rather than discovering both on arrival.
A seized fastener, a part that has to be ordered, or a second fault found while the first is being fixed. We tell you as soon as we know rather than at the end, and if the extra work changes the price you agree to the new number before we carry on.
Wear on the inner edge only is negative camber or excessive toe-in. Wear on both outer edges is under-inflation. A feathered, saw-tooth edge you can feel with your palm is toe misalignment. Those three patterns point at three different repairs, and the tyres will tell you before the steering does.
