One loud click with bright dashboard lights is the starter. Rapid clicking with dimming lights is the battery or a corroded terminal. Starting fine and then dying while driving is the alternator. We test all three at the roadside before fitting anything, because replacing a healthy battery on a Chevrolet C2500 with a failing alternator leaves you exactly where you started, two days later.
With a range ending in 2000, this is very likely a conventional car with no start-stop system, which means a good standard battery in the correct group size does the job. AGM would last longer but you would be paying for cycle life the car never uses.
Large-displacement V8s put enormous heat through the cooling system in summer traffic; radiator condition is worth checking annually. For the battery specifically: park in shade where you can, drive far enough to actually recharge rather than only starting the car, and have it load-tested before summer rather than after. A battery that reads 12.4 volts at rest can still fail its load test, and the load test is the one that predicts the morning it does not start.
