If your Hyundai Atos needed a jump start this week, the useful question is not which battery to buy. It is whether the battery is the fault at all.
Recent models use a battery sensor on the negative terminal, and a replacement has to be registered to the car or the charging system undercharges the new battery. On the Atos specifically, which the vehicle database lists across model years 1997 to 2011, the safe approach is to read the label on the battery that is in the car now and match its group size, terminal side and capacity — or to give us the year and let us look it up.
One loud click with bright dashboard lights is the starter. Rapid clicking with dimming lights is the battery or a corroded terminal. Starting fine and then dying while driving is the alternator. We test all three at the roadside before fitting anything, because replacing a healthy battery on a Hyundai Atos with a failing alternator leaves you exactly where you started, two days later.
With a range ending in 2011, this is very likely a conventional car with no start-stop system, which means a good standard battery in the correct group size does the job. AGM would last longer but you would be paying for cycle life the car never uses.
Hyundai AC systems cope well but the condensers sit low and collect road debris; a blocked stack is the most common no-cooling cause we find. For the battery specifically: park in shade where you can, drive far enough to actually recharge rather than only starting the car, and have it load-tested before summer rather than after. A battery that reads 12.4 volts at rest can still fail its load test, and the load test is the one that predicts the morning it does not start.
