Every visit includes a battery health test — not a voltage reading, a load test — because a Geely in Dubai is on a two-to-three year battery cycle and the cheapest time to find a failing one is while somebody is already looking at the car. On the start-stop models in this range that also means checking whether the battery has been registered, because an unregistered replacement is being charged to the wrong profile.
The engine revs climb without the car accelerating proportionally, most obviously under load or on an incline. Any delay between selecting drive and the car moving is the same warning.
A pressure flush on a neglected high-mileage box can dislodge deposits that were holding pressure and cause immediate failure. We drain, drop the pan and change the filter instead, which is slower and considerably safer.
