We do brake pad replacement across the whole Lexus range, and we quote it per model rather than per brand, because a quote that covers every Lexus equally is a quote that is wrong for most of them.

While the Lexus is with us

Every visit includes a battery health test — not a voltage reading, a load test — because a Lexus in Dubai is on a two-to-three year battery cycle and the cheapest time to find a failing one is while somebody is already looking at the car. On the start-stop models in this range that also means checking whether the battery has been registered, because an unregistered replacement is being charged to the wrong profile.

Squealing, grinding and juddering are three different faults

A high squeal is the wear indicator doing exactly what it was designed to do — you have a few hundred kilometres. A metallic grinding noise means the pad backing is on the disc and the disc is now also a purchase. A judder felt through the pedal is disc thickness variation, not pad wear at all, and new pads will not fix it.

Why brakes wear faster in Dubai

Heavy vehicles, sustained high speeds and the specific pattern of hard braking into congestion put more energy through the pads here than average. Heat also cooks the grease out of calliper slide pins, and a seized pin wears one pad to nothing while the other stays thick — which is why we check pins on every job rather than only on request.

Brake Pad Replacement on a Lexus: what is different

Lexus is a Japanese make, and Lexus cabins are heavily loaded with electronics that draw current parked, so a 12V battery here has a harder life than the mileage suggests. For a brake pad replacement specifically that means we price the parts to the model rather than the badge, and we check the items that go alongside it on this range instead of quoting a flat figure and finding out later.

What the visit covers

  • Front and rear pad replacement with OE-equivalent friction material
  • Disc thickness and runout measured against the minimum stamped on the hub
  • Calliper slide pins cleaned, greased and boots checked
  • Brake fluid moisture test and bleed where the reading calls for it

Questions we get asked

How often do brake pads need replacing?

Typically every 30,000 to 50,000 km, but it depends entirely on how you drive. We measure the remaining material rather than going by mileage.

Can you replace brake pads at my home?

Yes. Pads, discs and fluid are all mobile jobs. Most cars take about 90 minutes for one axle in your own parking space.

Do I need to replace the discs as well as the pads?

Only if they are below the minimum thickness stamped on the hub, scored, or showing thickness variation. We measure and show you the number.

Lexus needs a brake pad replacement? Tell us the model.

Call, or send your location on WhatsApp. We will tell you the price before we set off.
