Keeping a German car's battery alive through a Dubai summer
The 2.0 TFSI water pump and thermostat module is a heat-related failure we see constantly, and it usually announces itself as a coolant smell before a warning light. For the battery specifically: park in shade where you can, drive far enough to actually recharge rather than only starting the car, and have it load-tested before summer rather than after. A battery that reads 12.4 volts at rest can still fail its load test, and the load test is the one that predicts the morning it does not start.
