One loud click with bright dashboard lights is the starter. Rapid clicking with dimming lights is the battery or a corroded terminal. Starting fine and then dying while driving is the alternator. We test all three at the roadside before fitting anything, because replacing a healthy battery on a BYD S2 with a failing alternator leaves you exactly where you started, two days later.
This is very likely a conventional car with no start-stop system, which means a good standard battery in the correct group size does the job. AGM would last longer but you would be paying for cycle life the car never uses.
Thermal management is well handled, but tyre wear and brake corrosion from regenerative braking are worth watching. For the battery specifically: park in shade where you can, drive far enough to actually recharge rather than only starting the car, and have it load-tested before summer rather than after. A battery that reads 12.4 volts at rest can still fail its load test, and the load test is the one that predicts the morning it does not start.
Battery choice on the S2 is driven as much by physical fit and parked current draw as by cranking amps. We check all three against the car rather than against the model name, because trim levels within one model can take different batteries.
