What follows is what car maintenance on a Toyota specifically involves, what it costs, and what we check while the car is with us.

Car Maintenance on a Toyota: what is different

Toyota is a Japanese make, and Toyotas here are typically high-mileage and reliable enough that servicing gets deferred; the two things that catch owners out are water pumps and the ignition coils on the 2.7 and 4.0 petrol engines. For a car service specifically that means we price the parts to the model rather than the badge, and we check the items that go alongside it on this range instead of quoting a flat figure and finding out later.

Which Toyota do you have?

The vehicle database lists 268 Toyota models, and parts, labour time and price all move between them. Pick yours from the list below for the detail that applies to your car rather than to the range.

While the Toyota is with us

Every visit includes a battery health test — not a voltage reading, a load test — because a Toyota in Dubai is on a two-to-three year battery cycle and the cheapest time to find a failing one is while somebody is already looking at the car. We also check charging voltage, because a battery that keeps going flat is usually an alternator story.

Minor versus major, and when each is due

A minor service is oil, filters and fluids — roughly every 10,000 km here. A major adds the items on longer intervals: spark plugs, fuel filter, brake fluid, coolant, transmission fluid. Most cars want a major every third service or every 40,000 km, whichever comes first, and skipping the major is how a car ends up with six-year-old brake fluid.

What the visit covers

  • Minor service: oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter, full fluid top-up
  • Major service: the above plus fuel filter, spark plugs, brake fluid, coolant
  • Full inspection with recorded measurements, not tick boxes
  • Battery health test with cranking amps, not just a voltage reading

Questions we get asked

How often should I service my Toyota in Dubai?

Every 10,000 km or every six months for a minor service, whichever comes first. Dubai's heat and dust justify the shorter interval even where the handbook allows longer.

What is included in a full car service?

Engine oil and filter, air filter, cabin filter, all fluid levels, a battery health test, brake and tyre measurements, suspension and steering inspection, and a diagnostic scan. You get the recorded figures.

Will servicing outside the dealer void my warranty?

No. UAE law and standard practice allow independent servicing provided the correct parts and specifications are used and the work is documented, which is exactly what our checklist is for.
