What follows is what oil change on a Nissan specifically involves, what it costs, and what we check while the car is with us.
Every visit includes a battery health test — not a voltage reading, a load test — because a Nissan in Dubai is on a two-to-three year battery cycle and the cheapest time to find a failing one is while somebody is already looking at the car. We also check charging voltage, because a battery that keeps going flat is usually an alternator story.
Modern synthetic oil is chemically capable of the interval printed in the handbook. What shortens it here is the combination of sustained high ambient temperature, idling in traffic with the AC on full, and fine airborne dust reaching the sump past a filter that is overdue. Fifteen to twenty percent earlier than the book figure is a sensible allowance.
A 0W-20 engine filled with 5W-30 will run, and its variable valve timing will run slightly wrong, and its fuel economy will drop, and the wear that follows will not be visible for two years. Grade is stamped on the oil cap for a reason and we match it.
Nissan is a Japanese make, and CVT gearboxes in the Altima and X-Trail need their fluid changed far earlier than the schedule suggests once they have spent a few summers in Dubai traffic. For an oil change specifically that means we price the parts to the model rather than the badge, and we check the items that go alongside it on this range instead of quoting a flat figure and finding out later.

If the manufacturer specified it, yes. Even where semi-synthetic is permitted, fully synthetic holds up better against Dubai's ambient temperatures and is worth the small difference in price.
